Marcin Orlicki
UAM Professor, doctor habilitatus Marcin Orlicki
I am a doctor habilitatus of law, a professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland), a legal advisor, specializing in civil law and insurance law.
I graduated legal studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and studies in the field of management and marketing at the same Faculty. In 1996 I obtained a title of Magister Legum, LL. M., after graduating the supplementary legal studies at The Faculty of Law of the University of Potsdam (Germany).
Since 1996 I have been working in the Chair of Civil, Commercial and Insurance Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In 2001 I obtained the degree of a doctor of law on the basis of the doctoral dissertation entitled “Insurance Contract”, prepared under the guidance of prof. dr hab. Janina Panowicz – Lipska. In 2012, on the basis of my academic achievements and the monograph “Compulsory Insurance”, I obtained a degree of doctor habilitatus in the field of law. Since 2014 I have been employed in the position of a professor of the Adam Mickiewicz University.
I passed a judicial examination at the Court of Appeals in Poznań in 1998, and a bar examination at the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisers in Poznań in 2001. Since 2001 I have been active as a legal advisor, running my own law firm, specialising in insurance and compensation matters.
In years 2005 – 2006 I was an adviser of the President of the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervision Authority. Over the years 2004 – 2011 I took part in legislative works, aiming at amendments of Polish insurance law in the fields of insurance contract and compulsory insurance.
I am a member of the editorial board of the quarterly published “Prawo Asekuracyjne” and of the „Fiat Justisia Jurnal Ilmu Hukum” (Indonesia).
Since 2017 I have been a member of supervisory boards of Polish companies belonging to GENERALI Group.
